In 1975, 🇨🇳China was the most populous country in the world, with a total of 915,124,661 people. Followed by 🇮🇳India, with the second largest population globally of 623,524,219 people in total. The country with the lowest population count for the year was 🇻🇦Holy See with only 740 people.

The geographic region with the largest population in 1975 was Asia with a total population of 2,396,020,826 people, closely followed by Africa with a population of 417,556,630, and Latin America and the Caribbean with a population of 323,032,374 people recorded for the year.
