World Population by Country in 1986

In 1986, the world reached a total population of 4,950,063,340 and 🇨🇳China was the most populous country that year, with a total of 1,077,770,523 people. Followed by 🇮🇳India, with the second largest population globally of 797,878,993 people in total. The country with the lowest population count for the year was 🇻🇦Holy See with only 713 people.

The geographic region with the largest population in 1986 was Asia with a total population of 2,969,038,010 people, closely followed by Africa with a population of 571,646,426, and Latin America and the Caribbean with a population of 410,179,799 people recorded for the year.
