Annual World Population by Country 2005

In 2005, 🇨🇳China was the most populous country in the world, with a total of 1,304,887,562 people. Followed by 🇮🇳India, with the second largest population globally of 1,154,638,713 people in total. The country with the lowest population count for the year was 🇻🇦Holy See with only 627 people.

The geographic region with the largest population in 2005 was Asia with a total population of 3,980,365,939 people, closely followed by Africa with a population of 927,898,100, and Latin America and the Caribbean with a population of 557,964,020 people recorded for the year.

When devided into sub-subregions we can see that Southern Asia had the largest populous of 1,611,446,502 people on record. Followed by Eastern Asia with a population of 1,537,457,543, and Eastern Africa with 297,412,725 people in the sub-region.

If we devide the global population into income groups we can see that Middle-income countries had the largest population with a total of 4,932,367,171 people. While the lowest population for 2005 was found in No income group available with a population of 27,083,865 people in that segment.
