A population's fertility rate is most commonly calculated as Total Total Fertility Rate or TFR for short. The Total Total Fertility Rate (TFR) is a standard demographic indicator that is used internationally to estimate the average number of children born per woman in a population. It is calculated by adding up all the age-specific fertility rates, multiplying this sum by X (the width of the age-group interval), and then dividing by 1,000.
