Median Age by Country in 1998

In the year 1998, the world had a median age of 24.67 years.

The country with the highest median age was 🇻🇦Holy See where the median is 52.13 years. Closely followed by 🇲🇨Monaco with a median age of 44.02 years, and 🇯🇵Japan with 40.08.

The country with the lowest median age for the year was 🇾🇪Yemen where the median is 14.04 years. Followed by 🇺🇬Uganda with a median age of 14.04, and 🇦🇫Afghanistan with 14.20 years.

The geographic region with the highest median age was Europe with a median of 35.97 years. Closely followed by Northern America with a median age of 33.99 years, and Oceania with 29.39 years of median age.

When devided into sub-subregions we can see that Western Europe had the highest median age of 37.15 years. Closely followed by Southern Europe with a median age of 36.46 years, and Northern Europe with 36.15 years of median age.

If we devide the global population into income groups we can see that High-income countries has the highest median age of 34.78 years. While the lowest median age is recorded by Low-income countries with a median age of only 16.05.
