Annual Net Migrations by Country in 1985

In 1985, 🇺🇸United States of America was the country with the highest annual net migrations of 759,118 people for the year. Followed by 🇵🇰Pakistan with 282,435 , and 🇷🇺Russian Federation were 220,025 more people immigrated to than emigrated from the country.

The country with the lowest annual net migrations was 🇲🇽Mexico with -588,611 people. Followed by 🇦🇫Afghanistan with a net migrations of -210,572, and 🇸🇩Sudan with -207,483 net migrations recorded.

The geographic region with the highest net migrations was Northern America with a total of 798,680 people dying for the year. Closely followed by Europe with a net migrations 396.306, and Oceania with 39,551 net migrations recorded for the year.

When devided into sub-subregions we can see that Western Europe had the highest net migrations of 308,645 people. Closely followed by Eastern Africa with a net migrations of 173,450, and Southern Africa with 130,892 net migrations recorded.

If we devide the global population into income groups we can see that High-income countries has the highest net migrations of 1,565,198. While the lowest net migrations is recorded by Middle-income countries were -1,087,970 more people emigrated than immigrated in that segment.
