Annual Net Migrations by Country in 1985

In 1985, 🇺🇸United States of America was the country with the highest annual net migrations of 598,777 people for the year. Followed by 🇷🇺Russian Federation with 280,614 , and 🇿🇦South Africa were 244,940 more people immigrated to than emigrated from the country.

The country with the lowest annual net migrations was 🇲🇽Mexico with -445,447 people. Followed by 🇧🇩Bangladesh with a net migrations of -287,872, and 🇸🇩Sudan with -222,315 net migrations recorded.

The geographic region with the highest net migrations was Northern America with a total of 668,342 people dying for the year. Closely followed by Europe with a net migrations 488.771, and Africa with 327,554 net migrations recorded for the year.

When devided into sub-subregions we can see that Southern Africa had the highest net migrations of 252,727 people. Closely followed by Western Europe with a net migrations of 221,208, and Eastern Europe with 177,002 net migrations recorded.

If we devide the global population into income groups we can see that High-income countries has the highest net migrations of 1,179,068. While the lowest net migrations is recorded by Low-and-middle-income countries were -1,181,595 more people emigrated than immigrated in that segment.
