Annual Net Migrations by Country in 2002

In 2002, 🇦🇫Afghanistan was the country with the highest annual net migrations of 1,327,074 people for the year. Followed by 🇺🇸United States of America with 1,168,499 , and 🇪🇸Spain were 741,349 more people immigrated to than emigrated from the country.

The country with the lowest annual net migrations was 🇵🇰Pakistan with -834,546 people. Followed by 🇮🇷Iran (Islamic Republic of) with a net migrations of -568,950, and 🇨🇳China with -477,885 net migrations recorded.

The geographic region with the highest net migrations was Europe with a total of 1,588,535 people dying for the year. Closely followed by Northern America with a net migrations 1374.013, and Oceania with 171,630 net migrations recorded for the year.

When devided into sub-subregions we can see that Southern Europe had the highest net migrations of 915,935 people. Closely followed by Western Europe with a net migrations of 325,656, and Northern Europe with 255,644 net migrations recorded.

If we devide the global population into income groups we can see that High-income countries has the highest net migrations of 3,350,714. While the lowest net migrations is recorded by Middle-income countries were -4,327,706 more people emigrated than immigrated in that segment.
