Annual Net Migrations by Country in 2008

In 2008, 🇺🇸United States of America was the country with the highest annual net migrations of 1,416,841 people for the year. Followed by 🇻🇳Viet Nam with 571,113 , and 🇦🇪United Arab Emirates were 523,207 more people immigrated to than emigrated from the country.

The country with the lowest annual net migrations was 🇧🇩Bangladesh with -1,158,420 people. Followed by 🇮🇳India with a net migrations of -1,020,047, and 🇨🇳China with -764,370 net migrations recorded.

The geographic region with the highest net migrations was Northern America with a total of 1,654,419 people dying for the year. Closely followed by Europe with a net migrations 1540.493, and Americas with 779,431 net migrations recorded for the year.

When devided into sub-subregions we can see that Western Asia had the highest net migrations of 1,348,794 people. Closely followed by Southern Europe with a net migrations of 740,320, and Northern Europe with 385,716 net migrations recorded.

If we devide the global population into income groups we can see that High-income countries has the highest net migrations of 5,054,770. While the lowest net migrations is recorded by Low-and-middle-income countries were -5,017,312 more people emigrated than immigrated in that segment.
