Annual Net Migrations by Country in 2016

In 2016, 🇺🇸United States of America was the country with the highest annual net migrations of 1,449,371 people for the year. Followed by 🇩🇪Germany with 432,017 , and 🇹🇷Türkiye were 375,842 more people immigrated to than emigrated from the country.

The country with the lowest annual net migrations was 🇵🇰Pakistan with -2,290,411 people. Followed by 🇿🇦South Africa with a net migrations of -866,101, and 🇸🇸South Sudan with -655,870 net migrations recorded.

The geographic region with the highest net migrations was Northern America with a total of 1,769,503 people dying for the year. Closely followed by Europe with a net migrations 1346.009, and Oceania with 289,328 net migrations recorded for the year.

When devided into sub-subregions we can see that Western Europe had the highest net migrations of 713,100 people. Closely followed by Northern Europe with a net migrations of 391,506, and Australia/New Zealand with 292,196 net migrations recorded.

If we devide the global population into income groups we can see that High-income countries has the highest net migrations of 3,969,487. While the lowest net migrations is recorded by Middle-income countries were -3,228,906 more people emigrated than immigrated in that segment.
