How is Births calculated?

The Births (NRR) is calculated by taking the sum of the age-specific fertility rates (ASFRs) in a population, and then subtracting the age-specific mortality rates (ASMRs). The ASFRs and ASMRs are expressed as the number of births or deaths per 1,000 population in a specific age group.

To calculate the NRR, you first need to determine the age-specific fertility rates and age-specific mortality rates for each age group in the population. For example, if you are calculating the NRR for a population of women aged 15-49, you would need to determine the number of births per 1,000 women in each of these age groups. Once you have the fertility rates for each age group, you can sum them to get the total fertility rate.
